Workforce Development/Continuing Education

To effectively address the most pressing transportation workforce issues, RTI operates under the philosophy that the strength of an enterprise is its people.

Due to the nation’s aging infrastructure, the looming retirement of the current transportation workforce and the unique transportation challenges throughout Appalachia there is a sense of urgency to retain, recruit and re-train highly skilled industry professionals and technically trained employees.

To bridge the employment gaps and remain competitive within the marketplace, private industry and government agencies look to RTI for effective training and retention to fill employment gaps, define efficiencies, and create career pathways for key positions.

Through surveys, demographic studies, and skills gap analysis, RTI identifies current and future transportation employment needs. Based on the findings, RTI then facilitates effective partnerships for training, custom curriculum development, technology transfer, and funding opportunities.
